vintage mechanical watches-what is proper way to store to preserve these items?
when not viewing mechanical watches , how should they be stored. noticed mine had a coat of mist on them. live in a cold damp climate.should they be in individual plastic bags /in a paper mailing type bag. sitting in my display case, afraid dampness will harm them. any ideals on this appreciated.
Plastic bags emit acids, and these may be collecting on your watches, possibly harming them.
There are watch winders (that can store up to 6 wrist watches- I’ve seen the 6- watch winder, and there may be a larger one.)
Check on the web for “Watch winder”, vintage watch storage”, “jewelry storage”, or “watch safe” (if there is such a thing!).
