Good vintage furniture/fashion/junk shops in London?

Travelling in New Zealand, and I’ve noticed that there are lots of really lovely junk shops around. I’d buy lots of stuff, but i wont be able to take it all back to England. I live in London, wondering if there where any shops like them there. In NZ, the shops are very cheap, i hope that’s what they’re like in London.
The kind of stuff I’m looking for is 80′s. Fashion, Bowling pins, posters, neon lights, art, rusty things, sculptures, old chairs… you get the idea.
Or if there are any Japanese stores that sell cute little things – i.e – dolls, soaps. I went to Camden before I left, lots of stores like that there.

Merci :)

For what you are looking for you have to check out portobello market and its surrounding shops. Portobello Market takes up most of what is actually more properly called Portobello Road, it stretches for around two miles, although on a crowded saturday afternoon it takes quite a while to walk from end to end. The market is open from

* 8.00am until 6.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
* Thursday is a half day closing at 1.00pm
* Saturday it is open from 8.00am to 6.30 pm.

These times vary depending on weather conditions and the season. During the week the market is used mainly by the local community and has a mix of fruit and vegetable produce, new goods and hot food stalls. Friday the second hand market is open and on Saturday the famous antiques market is held towards the Southern end of Portobello Road, near Notting Hill Gate. In addition to the antique stalls there are a whole host of arcades, galleries, shops and cafes open to cater for the flocks of tourists and visitors. A recent addition to the Saturday market is the Arts & Crafts section which is located just off Portobello Road on the Tavistock Piazza. This was created to encourage a range of unique trades and handicrafts.
