Are these good roller derby skates?
I’m trying to find super cheap roller derby skates. I just need a pair to get started on. What do you think of these?

I am 95% sure that I am going to stay in roller derby for a while, so if you think investing in an expensive pair of awesome skates right off the bat is the way to go, let me know. And send links to anything else you think I might be interested in (online stores, forums, etc.)! I want to be a jammer for the most part, so speedy skates are preferred.
Well from what I’ve read, Riedell Invaders are very good skates. The wheels and bearings look well used so you may have to replace one or both. New bearings will cost you 25 dollars at the very least. Wheels will be 50-100 dollars. (Depending on what your rink is like you may be able to use the old wheels for a while)
Also make sure these would be the right size for you. From what I’ve read they can run a little small. Those are a Men’s size 9. Bad fitting skates will lead to poor performance and injury!
FWIW many online skate retailers have “Rookie Derby Packages” that include skates, a helmet and protective pads for as little as 120 dollars.

At any rate, good luck and good skating!
edit: I see the price has gone up to 132 dollars now… probably will be more by the time the auction closes.
