Qutub Minar
Mammoth Minaret (238 feet) built from the remains of 27 Hindu and Jain temples in the year 1193-1369, commemorating the victory of Qutab-ud-din last Hindu kingdom in the city, the Qutub Minar is one of the oldest monuments in Delhi. Decorated with calligraphy representing verses from the Koran, narrows from a diameter of 50 meters at the base just 8 meters at the top. It houses several buildings with a unique combination of architecture, geometric shapes, each designed for a specialized use of astronomical measurement.
Purana Qila (Old Fort)
Has been built on the ruins of the ancient origin of Delhi (Indraprastha, founded in the third or fourth century BC), the Afghan ruler Sher Shah during the 1538-1545 years, the old fortress with its massive walls and three gates impose gives a fair idea of its lost glory. Has a small octagonal tower of red sandstone, which is used by King Humayun as a library, a mosque Qila-i-Kuhr, and a small archaeological museum.
India Gate
Built in sandstone, India Gate is a monument to commemorate the sacrifice of Indian soldiers during World War World's greatness overlooked architecture of the European Parliament and Rashtrapati Bhawan should not be forgotten either.
