Vintage Quilt Blocks

Plagerism or not?
have an old/vintage, out of print Children’s poetry/nursery rhyme book that I would like to use in an art project for my nursery theme.
This would include photocopying the pages of the book and using the pictures/poems in a quilt block, on the walls, (matted and colored in) , and in a mobil.
Would this be legal? I don’t want to destroy the book, because it took me three years to find another copy of it, and I do dearly love it, since it was used in my childhood as well as my Dad’s.
Any advice would help! Thanks!
