I get to redo my room but I dont know what to do I like retro and vintage but no crap like flowers Please Help

Okay, I really like retro, but all I can find with retro is flowert power.. I hate that. I’m really into stuff like the 1980s and 1960s. I really love all the 80s movies like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and The Outsiders, and Sixteen Candles and stuff like that.. I hate frilly girly junk and flowers and all that crap. Oh, and I already checked PBTeen, and it has NOTHING, so please don’t request that site. I also like old movie and music posters, and I like rock music like Guns N Roses and stuff like that. Dark Purple is also one of my favorite colors. Something else: pink is not a good color for me; I do not like pink very much. I am having a very hard time finding stuff I like. Pictures, websites or ANYTHING will be helpfull at this point.. PLEASE HELP ME!!

The early 60′s were definitely pink and black, but they were also turquoise. Seems like that, in some hue that’s appropriate to the amount of light your room gets might work just fine with some squishy purple pillows (floor pillows were 80′s) and maybe a purple,turquoise,white stripe fabric in a valance or shade. Turquoise is back now, so you should be able to find some accessories at stores like Target. How about finding some old vinyl records at a garage sale and framing two or three in silver frames? See if you can find cool titles from Elvis or the Beatles or the Mamas and the Papas.
You could go back and watch those movies again and see what colors were in Molly Ringwald’s bedroom, but don’t get hung up on that. You’re *interpreting* those decades in your own way. The 80′s really were much too flowery for your taste, but if you stick to the early 60′s you should find some good combinations. Another idea might be to find a classic car site and look at the car colors from the 60′s for inspiration. Sounds like a fun project.
I’m in the process of painting my laundry room and it’s going to have pink walls in honor of my black and pink plaid bed coverings from the 60′s. I may even do the floor in gray with black and pink speckles!
