redecorating room!!!!?

i am 17.
my room is fairly small.
it is light purple.
i want a more mature looking room.
currently it has a bunch of flower and butterfly stuff. (which i am getting rid of.)
i love my bedspread. (white with purple, blue, gold flower like down the middle -not kiddy. its more mature)
i have a few “vintage” stuff like a purple little mirror and one of those purple mirror trays and a decorative box. and a nice dark wood jewlery box.)
i was wondering do you think my room would look good if i paint one wall dark/bright purple and the other three white with that purple stripes (not small and together but rather large and apart)???
about how much paint would i need?? and about how much would it cost???
also any good websites for decorative items to make my room look more mature??

Your 17. You should be thinking about what you will grow into, that will make you proud. I wouldhave the accent wall and paint the rest of the walls a earth tone. Just change to an asian theme or something like that.

Take some pictures of things you like and crop them and blow them up to the size you want and keep the decor to a minimum. People get things so over cluttered its really sad.

Go to the book store and look at magazines about decorating and then get a feeling about how you want to go. You want to have a nice place to visit when you are in college.
