What kind of pickups should I put in my guitar?

I have a fender starcaster that I was kind of thinking about getting new pickups for. Its not a vintage starcaster its one of those new stratocaster look a likes. I have a better guitar now and I was kind of thinking of handing it down to my cousin, which is why I was thinking about putting some work into it. So My question is, what kind of pick ups would you ?

If it’s a Starcaster, not a Stratocaster, I wouldn’t waste the money upgrading the pups.
