When did bamboo themed jewelry first become popular?

I noticed in music videos, hip hop fashion, and other parts of popular culture bamboo earrings are a standard. Although I know hip hop has a lot to do with it’s popularity, I also noticed Tiffany & co. amongst other high fashion labels bamboo themed jewelry and while searching for different styles of bamboo I came across cameos, pearl rings, bracelets and other vintage jewelry dating before the climax of hip-hop with the same bamboo style. I am curious about the style and where it originated. If someone knows anything about this or a website I might find some help on it would be greatly appreciated.

I’m guessing it has to do with an oriental influence. I was kinda shocked when you mention Tiffany and co b/c I thought you were talking about those big ghetto fabulous bamboo earrings and really couldn’t believe Tiffanys would make a version, but when I searched for bamboo on their site it was some silverware and a picture frame. I think hip hops adoption of bamboo for those big earrings is just a coincidence. I could be wrong tho
