Is this appropriate for a formal event?
I am going to a formal event (men wear tux and women in dresses), and I hate dressing like everyone else, so I went to a little vintage store and bought a leopard print dress. the dress is long but there is one slit up past the knee, it cinches the smallest part of the waist, and i am planning on wearing red heels and red earrings with it. Someone told me that it would be inappropriate for the event since it is leopard print. Is this true?
it’s a formal dance. average age of people will be 22 to 28 with a handful of people in their early thirties. I don’t want to wear dark colors because I despise dark colors and it makes me feel like I am going to a funeral 
I don’t know what the etiquette dress code is for formal wear but I do know that many people feel that women should wear black or dark dress to the informal.
If you feel brave enough why not go in your leopard dress but I strongly suggest that you let your partner know beforehand what you are planning on wearing.
