Venetian Plaster Color Trends
Elegant, organic Italian plaster hues in soft taupes, grays and vanillas will continue to remain on trend, but the latest Venetian plaster colors will introduce rich tones and textures that pop against neutral backgrounds. Color and design experts point to three colors expected to gain popularity in 2011 when paired with natural, neutral tones – a rich wine, a vibrant honeysuckle pink, and a sunny citrus. Paint color experts predict that a new neutral – a rich, velevety bordeaux redolent of chocolate and vintage wine, will anchor the color schemes in 2011. We expect to see these rich paint hues show up in 2011 designer homes and offices – and Venetian plastering takes the look to a whole new level.
We’ve interpreted these colors along with ever popular neutrals into four venetian plaster color palettes utilizing a variety of Italian plaster finishes, to illustrate the very different looks that can be achieved when designing Venetian plaster walls and ceilings. Whether your tastes range from the rustic to the refined, old world Italian plaster finishes to elegantly polished Grassello Venetian plaster surfaces, there is a unique look that can be achieved with the right plaster and technique that elevates your decor and brings beauty to your surroundings.
The benefits of decorating with authentic lime plasters from Italy go beyond their beauty and dramatic statement. Lime plaster will age gracefully, and in most cases, outlast painted or synthetic surfaces. Natural llime plaster is an excellent sound barrier and insulator; they absorb moisture and resist mold. Natural plasters are easy to maintain and keep clean. MOst can be custom tinted to any color, and the design possibilities are endless.
