I’ve got a vintage SLR, is it worth keeping?
When my mother was in her early 20′s she used to do photography. I just found her old SLR camera. It’s a Canon AV-1 and it has a strap and a case. The camera is in really good condition.
Could anyone tell me what year approximately that this camera is from?
Would it by any chance be worth any money?
As I also have an interest in photography, is this camera good enough to spend the time on it and use it myself?
Can I buy lenses for it?
It doesn’t have a manual, can I get one from somewhere?

It’s from 1979. It uses the now defunct FD mount. You can buy lenses for it, but they will be second hand.
It probably won’t be worth a lot of money, due to the lens mount. I don’t they made adapters for FD-EF (Or vica versa). I’m guessing maybe 100$ is you are incredibly lucky.
The camera is only as good as you. Any SLR is worth keeping, provided you know what you’re doing.
