Is 150k miles on a ’88 BMW 320i acceptable?
Quick question: A mate is looking to buy a 1988 BMW 320i. It’s going cheap enough – about 1k. Trouble is that it’s got about 150k miles on the clock. And it’s a petrol…
Is it even worth looking at with that mileage? And, if anyone has any experience with vintage Beemers: What to look out for?

Hi, first, the price, too dear barter for the price due to high mileage, has the car been serviced well? has it got history? Its on a chain so that’s not a problem, check disks/ pads are they worn? check the oil cap!! is it full of gunge? may just need an oil change, when you looked at the car was the engine warm!!! BEWARE, If you are not well up on cars take someone with you otherwise you will get stung, Check the Clutch/ adjustment, dose it have plenty left? do not look at the car when itys been raining it hides a lot, do not bye in the dark, ask can you go for a run to try out, check if you can afford the Insurance.
