Vintage Bicycle Brakes

How do I completely remove the handlebars from my vintage bicycle?
The bike is an 80′s Panasonic. I want to take the brake lines completely out for transplant to another bike. I just cannot get the lines out. How is this done?
This is kind of a weird question. Are you saying that the brake cables run _inside_ the handle bar?
First off I would recommend that you go to a bike shop and buy new cables. They cheap, and you can cut them to fit. If you pull them off an old bike, they might not be long enough and you’ll need new ones anyway. Besides, you should never cheap out on safety.
If you insist on the presto-chango:
Disconnect the cable from the brake
Remove the handlebar tape
Pull the cable from the brake lever end through any guides or paths in the frame or bar
Pull the housing off the inner cable by pulling _away_ from the brake lever
Squeeze the brake lever, and push the inner cable through from the back.
I still recommend against it.
