What are some good blues / funk?
I'm considering buying a low learning blues / jazz and I was wondering what are the listening good bands. Bono: I had intended to buy a Squier Vintage modified Jazz Bass and I was wondering if anyone had experience with it?
I think if one wonders what in jazz you'll get better answers, but I'll give you a shot at the answer: Blues bass players are not the most technical bassists ever and there are many famous Blues bass players, but I can give you two names that I think is worth giving a listen: Nathan East – is a great bass player who is best known for his work with Eric Clapton and Phil Collins. I saw him play jazz and blues and jazz style provides a very inspired to play guitar Blues almost low. Jack Bruce – He was the bassist, singer and harmonica in the British group blues-rock band Cream. You can improvise on guitar, but do not depart from a traditional blues bassist too. It is a great source of inspiration for me. Willie Dixon – Tal Once the most famous blues bass player (who played bass, not bass) and one of the most influential composers of blues history. The jazz bass players is probably the largest, lowest technically perfect, here let me give you some names of bands and some bassists: Jaco Pastorius – American jazz bassist Banda fusion Weather Report often called the greatest bass player of all time. He also had a solo career and has participated with other groups too. I'll give you some links to his work at the bottom of this page. Victor Wooten – is also brilliant bassist and my favorite jazz bassist. He has a solo career and has been involved with other bands as well. SMV – A trio of three-under bassists, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke. I do not know much about the downside of funk, as I have to say I like jazz, which will able to respond better. Nathan East LINKS Blues – Blues Bass Solo – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Nn2QCZOJXA Jack Bruce (Cream) – Carrefour – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdwVVI4B3oY Willie Dixon – Bassology – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcqqyL-Y6Go Jazz Jaco Pastorius – Portrait of Tracy – http:/ / www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXOnhzoC-i8&feature=related Victor Wooten – Norwegian Wood – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fnn7eQYrzw SMV – Thunder – http:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6cD3lQ7ZXA Remember that you can not jump in touch blues and jazz, you have to learn Bassic first. If you have questions about the bass, then ask and I will answer. Furthermore, all under good for a first low and sounds like a good coffee any way.
