Tips for Choosing Shirt Collar Styles that Compliment Your Face
When you’re choosing a dress shirt, you may quickly find that there are various shirt collar styles that you can choose from today. This may make it difficult for you to figure out what collar style you should be choosing. Depending on your face, different styles may look best on you. You want to highlight the face and make yourself look your best. Here are a few tips that can help you make the right choice.
When it comes to shirt collar styles, you’ll find that point collars are the most popular options. Several types of point styles are available as well. In most cases, men that have a round face will find this type of collar to be a nice option. However, men with slimmer faces may not want to go with this style. You can choose from several types of point collar styles. You have the classic straight point, which has a point length of 2.75 inches. The narrow straight point has less space in-between the two points and they are about 3.5 inches long.
Another option you can consider when choosing shirt collar styles is the spread collar, often known as the cutaway collar. They have a larger opening at the top, which allows for ties that use larger knots. These styles look best on men who have long and slim faces, while men who have round faces probably want to avoid this style. The medium spread has a wider spread than a point collar. The wide spread has an even larger spread, but it doesn’t look good on all men.
Pin collars and tab collars are two shirt collar styles that are not quite as popular as point and spread styles. Pin collars have small holes that allow you to pin bars or pins behind your tie’s knot and adds a bit more decoration. However, you shouldn’t wear it without wearing a tie. The tab collars are have special tabs that come out of the points and they can be put together to add a loop look that goes behind your tie. It helps to highlight knots that are more elaborate.
