Idea’s for USMC Tats?
I’ve joined the USMC and i’m going to bootcamp june 21. When i’m done i want to get some kickass USMC tats. I have a few idea’s of what to get, but i’m not solid on anything. I don’t want the plain EGA, but some sort of badass rendition of it. I was thinking of a poster i have where the EGA is made completely out of steel and the eagle is grabbing at your face with it’s talon. Also, i’ll be a Combat Engineer (1371), so are there any good ones for that?? If you have any designs on flikr or facebook or whatever, please post a link. Otherwise explain your idea the best you can.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE…If you’re gonna get a moto tat, don’t get some crazy version of an EGA cuz you think it looks badass…they call them “boot scars” for a reason. I have seen WAY too many retarded moto tats in my time, don’t be another “that guy”. There’s nothing wrong with the normal EGA, if it’s good enough for the rest of the Marine Corps, its good enough for you. You ain’t special, but you’ll find that out for yourself June 21st, won’t you.
also, grunts get grunt tattoos, but you’re gonna be a pog, pogs don’t usually get pog-specific moto tats. if you don’t understand what i just said, its because you’re a boot. you’ll learn.
J D: First of all, all the respect in the world to yourself and all Vietnam vets, and all due respect to air wingers, especially CASEVAC helos and their crews. I have loaded many wounded friends onto those birds, always knowing I was leaving them in good hands. Although its often used as one, I did not mean POG in a derogatory way, just a statement of fact, that they are Personnel Other than Grunts. Most non-infantry personnel I know openly refer to themselves as POGs and use it as a term of endearment. That being said, it’s easy to start resenting people, even other Marines, who sleep in beds and eat hot chow every day when you’ve been on an operation for 4 weeks living on MREs and pop tarts, washing with baby wipes and sanitizer and getting shot at every day. Doesn’t make them any less necessary, just sayin. And by the way, seeing Cobras blow the sh*t out of an enemy position thats been hammering us for 2.5 hours is possibly the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen. get some.
