Camping in Pennsylvania, where we go for the bad?

Then some friends and I are planning a camping trip in the first week of August. We live in western PA, so we are looking for places in the center of the state, and the extreme right in Ohio. The point of the whole thing is we do not want an old camp. We want to be a place that is deep in the forest, not near some of the family in a popup window. Basically, a place that will allow us to "rough" with a lot Store site. All good ideas?

The only way that is calm and deep woods camping in Palestine this summer is that if you are ready to walk at least a few kilometers from the forest. In any place can be filled up by others. Therefore, a place with "plenty of tent sites" can be problematic if you are seeking solitude. That said, there are many places in the Allegheny National Forest for their northern border and in the Monongahela National Forest in NY, to its south. Both are on a 4 hour drive from Pittsburgh. West Virginia's mountains tend to be more robust and less densely populated. Due to increased logging and gas exploitation in the Allegheny Forest, is more difficult to find their way away from the people and roads. I backpack and camp in detail in these two areas. As previous answer stated, the Department of Natural Resources PA Resources has excellent maps and guides online to all camping areas in the state. Some of the most spectacular and remote wilderness found in NY Cranberry, Dolly Sods, Otter Creek, Spruce Knob and you can find information on line NY State on the subject. Closer to Pittsburgh, no nice campsites along the road to Laurel Highlands, stretching from north to south and 50 miles east. AND P. John Saylor Way near Johnstown loop trail has several camping areas for tents large multiples. Go online and check the booking conditions for any location that is engineered to ensure enforce restrictions on the location and areas that are not saturated. The closest wilderness without roads is very deep in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY.
