Pop Beauty Day To Play

Your impressions of Mass Effect?
Got the game, played it for pretty much half of the day. At first the game will seem like a let down compared to the hype. The game can do without film grain, and if some of you that where smart enough to go into the options, can turn off the film grain and have a cleaner, crisper picture
Controls and schemes take a while to soak in, but after completing the tutorial level, thats when things really pick up and the true beauty of the game begins to shine.
Im very impressed with the overall production of this game. The V/O’S (voice overs) are top notch for any game Ive ever encountered. Sound is superb (recommend getting 5.1 system for this), graphics are on par , if more than assasians creed (however frame rates drop in certain areas), controls feel great, except for the weapon/biotic pop up screen where it seems really jumpy when selecting the icons.
All in all, this is a story driven game with a lot of potential to be game of the year.
You impressions?
It was boring. It also was too jumpy and the sound seemed all one volume. We didn’t like it. 3 out of 10.

Seal $3.36 A far deeper, more enduring outing than his spectacular 1991 debut. Producer Trevor Horn calls on a cast of dozens (including Joni Mitchell who duets on the lovely “If I Could” and the ubiquitous Jeff Beck) and channels his famous, over-the-top tendencies into a sumptious bed of sound that makes Tears for Fears sound minimal. Soulful first single “Prayer for the Dying” will set the pace, while “Ki… |

Down the Road $13.98 Van Morrison’s childhood was steeped in American music, in part because he grew up the son of a rabid collector of classic jazz and R&B records. Morrison’s infatuation with the music understandably led to the raucous, blues-rooted performances of Them and his early solo records, but it also inspired his long, oft-misunderstood journey to find music more spiritually and geocentrically rooted. This … |

Cinderella Man [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] $10.33 For this movie about 1930s boxer Jim Braddock (Russell Crowe), director Ron Howard interrupted his longtime collaboration with composer James Horner and teamed up with Thomas Newman. It’s a wise decision: Newman has a lighter touch and his somber palette emphasizes the fact that Cinderella Man is more thoughtful drama than mere brawling flick (even a track titled “Pugilism” eschews obvious punchin… |
