Is there an easy way to make a picture look like the scanner darkly animations?
A Scanner Darkly was made by hand coloring each cell of animation, then overlaying the animated cells over the original live action footage.
This can be done to some effect in photoshop by using the poster edges filter.
First, you make a copy of your background layer. Next, choose your top layer and apply the poster edges filter. Work with the different settings to get it just how you want it. Finally, adjust the opacity of the top layer just slightly. Remember, you will have to play with the settings until everything looks just right.
