Picture Rail Moulding

I’m looking for a way to hang up a lot of pictures with a minimum of wall holes….?
I have a wooden ladder that I was thinking of incorporating to use as a surface to lean the pics on (inside the rungs and on the top and hang from the bottom –hanging the ladder horizontally btw;
or using a picture rail. the wall that I am going to hang them on is a triangular wall (attic stairs behind) so what kind of moulding do i use? i have a lot of scrap moulding–do i put tacks in? they are old vintage photos btw, something old fashioned or primitive would work also.
There are different products that will hold up photos. They have adhesive backs that are easy to put on and take off. Try drugstores, K-Mart, or Target. Find out Kumara how many pounds will the adhesive hold. There is also an advertisement on TV that uses a type of putty.
