Has anyone else ever just stopped listening to metal?
For the last two years I was heavily interested in heavy metal and all its subgenres (death, black, thrash, etc.), but lately it doesn’t do anything for me anymore. I always listened to metal during high school, and only really got into death metal during my first year of college. Over the past few months I’d been questioning my my taste in music, and recently I removed all the metal from my library and started listening to a whole new slew of artists like The Melvins, The Jesus Lizard, and The Black Keys. Is it normal for me to change this much? Also I have a whole bunch of metal cd’s, a few metal shirts, and some fairly expensive metallica posters. Should I keep them or get rid of them to help me forget the person I was? If it helps I’m 19 now, so yeah.
Yes. I’m 19 as well. I don’t listen to traditional metal, in the sense of thrash, death, power. I listen to sludge/stoner, post-metal, and black metal now. Although its rare when I do.
