What’s theName of a classic car with a riveted “fin” going down the middle?
It was featured on Discovery’s Ultimate cars list. IT had an oval-shaped grill, and had a distinct 1930s coupe styling. With wheels partially enclosed by the fenders. It is blue in colour. It looked like two halves of a car joined in the middle buy the riveted “fin”. I don’t remeber it and it’s driving me nuts!
It was probably the Bugatti Atlantic 57S built at Ettorre Bugatti’s Molsheim factory by his son Jean. You can probably find more pictures on the net, it was a well known car. The central fin in some form was a feature of several tear-drop coupes by Figoni & Falaschi and perhaps other coachbuilders like Pourtout and Darl’mat. These names are still famous in a limited circle of ultra-rich car fanciers.
