DEFINITION OF A MAN: Machismo, Cialis Viagra & Rock-Hard Erections – Is a man defined by his penis?

Is a man defined by his penis?

Does a soft penis mean a soft man? A harder erection, a harder man?

Machismo is seen by many men and women as the ideal man. Others see Machismo as exaggerated masculine pride and attitude.

The standard machismo definition is usually “A strong or exaggerated sense of masculinity, stressing attributes such as physical courage, virility, domination of women, and aggressiveness. An exaggerated sense of strength or toughness.” Do men still seek to be machismo? Do women secretly want them to be that way?

Since the rise of Women’s Lib in the Sixties, the definition and expectation of Manhood has changed, even softened. North American culture saw the image of the perfect man change in one generation from John Wayne to Jack Tripper.

The 20th Century began with Western society Manhood still controlled by an ideal of English Machismo and Muscular Christianity. The spirit of Teddy Roosevelt’s Rough Rider cowboy image, robust masculinity and outdoor philosophy defined men. Writers like Jack London, Zane Grey, Edgar Rice Burroughs (who created Tarzan and John Carter of Mars), Ernest Hemingway, Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler (hardboiled detectives), and a batallion of pulp fiction writers wrote about men who were modern day lone warriors. The strangest thing about those times was (because of Teddy Roosevelt’s fierce conservation mentality) the belief that Real Men protected Mother Nature — today a man who seeks to protect the wilderness and its animals is seen as a weak “environmentalist.”

Times have changed.

Collective corporate greed has replaced the Lone Hero.

Since the drug industry has been able to have “Erectile Dysfunction” recognized as a treatable medical ailment, the sales of the ultra-expensive drugs Cialis and Viagra have exploded. In 2004, just one year, Lilly-ICOS, Pfizer, and GlaxoSmithKline spent a combined $374 million to advertise Cialis, Viagra, and Levitra respectively. The industry established the causes of the “disease,” and produced the drugs for its treatment. Improve erections with their costly remedies.

Men who suffered at all from erectile difficulties wanted the best drugs. The problem was that most men didn’t want to talk about it, even admit they had a problem with their sexuality. Many began looking online for an anonymous solution. Websites sprang up with ads like “Buy Discount Viagra, Cialis & Levitra Without Prescription From Canada Through Mail Order!” Some guys believed the ads.

Not that Viagra and its cousins do not work. Even though both Viagra and Cialis drugs are meant for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, both have many differences. The debate of Cialis vs Viagra (which of these two drugs is better?) is ongoing.

Viagra enjoyed immense popularity for five years, as there was no other medical treatment for erectile dysfunction. However, when the Cialis drug was introduced, the first true competitor of Viagra came up.

The treatment, safety, and efficacy of Viagra and Cialis drugs differ mainly because of their active ingredients. The active ingredient in Viagra (blue pill) is sildenafil and in Cialis (weekend pill) is tadalafil. Both work.

But a number of elements, including the great expense and dangerous side effects, caused men to look elsewhere for remedies to improve erections and sexual response.

Natural Alternatives to Viagra began to appear. Medical experts on Natural Medicine began to weigh in.

The three-pronged approach is paramount. Meaning, we look at the emotional and spiritual life, which is the most important consideration in any illness. Number two is diet and lifestyle choices. Number three is exercise. We will not give any kind of supplement — notice the word is supplement, which means it’s supplemental — to other lifestyle choices that lead to overall wellness.”
