It’s that time of the year again when you’re just recovering from shopping for a gift for mom for Mother’s Day when before you know it you have to start all over and make sure you get the best gift ever for your dad for Father’s Day.
If you use a combination of polling friends and online searches for “Best Gift Ever for Father’s Day” and a more modest “Best Gifts for Father’s Day” really can make life so much easier for you. If you do that and use your best instincts as well as reading some of the following information, your Dad is really going to be happy with any one of the gifts you choose for him.
Of course a lot has to do with what kind of man he is, what his likes and dislikes are, whether he has a sense of humor or not, whether he collects anything or has any sort of hobby, whether he likes to travel or not, whether he is a clothes horse or likes to wear men’s jewelry, whether he’s cool or not, or whether he is a “techie” on the computer or just likes high tech gadgets and things. These are all the things you of course should take into consideration before even undertaking this daunting task. It’s not easy but here are some suggestions that will certainly help.
If your dad is a major league baseball fan and remembers the days when the Dodgers called Brooklyn home, he’ll definitely love one of these gifts. Remind him about it and America’s pastime with a Ballpark Pen made of the wooden seats from his favorite ballpark…even some that are no longer standing. You can also give him a Ballpark baseball corkscrew or bottle opener.
Or play on his love of photography…or simply photos from his camera, PDA or cell phone with USPS Photo Stamps of the children, grandchildren, or Dad’s pets. By uploading photos from your computer (or his) you can create personalized stamps (real US Postage) and make all his mail unique. He’s guaranteed to be proud of his mail from now on.
Does your father love music…or just love his iPod or iPhone? Get him an upgraded earphone set; an In-Ear Adjustable “Ear bud” from any number of web sites. They really do make a big difference in one’s listening experience.
Maybe dad is a closet-fan of John Wayne? If so why not consider one of the many collectibles with the Duke’s image embossed, engraved or encased? Like a John Wayne Centennial Plate, Stained-Glass Wall Decor art, a stained glass table lamp with his image or a figurine, glass mug or many, many others. They make great collectibles.
Is your father a military man? An ex-Marine? Get him a “Semper Fi” medallion or ring, a stainless steel Navy watch or any other of the many military-themed gifts available.
If he likes to cook on the BBQ grill, you could get him some nice grilling utensils. They now make motorized brushes and other grilling items. If possible, get some engraved with his initials. He should love that. How macho it’d be standing behind a grill swinging new utensils and showing off for all his neighbors.
How about, if you father might be into collecting things, start him on the road to being a “mini-land baron”…a Donald Trump in a smaller version. Start a collection of mini-real estate parcels; you can do an online search to find a really unusual and unique Father’s Day Gift and buy very small pieces of land in each and every state in the United States. You can get them one at a time for him (yes legal one-sq inch parcels with Deeds) or get all 50 on one personalized legal Deed to the USA for only a few dollars for each plot. You can also get him a piece of the Moon, Uranus or a Star. They’re all novel unique gift ideas.
Some excellent sites to look for great gifts for Father’s Day are at VeryCleverGifts.com, findgifts.com and giftsforall.com.
