Need help with the name of the anime film 80 a share of a giant robot?

When I was 6 years old in 1987, one of my greatest pastime was watching a VHS recording two movies: Transformers: The Movie and the film animates some of whose name escapes me to this day. The band belonged to a father who lived with us in a moment, and when he moved the tape with him. Then I heard the magic band faded from existence. Damn. So I missed by a long, long time. In 1999 I bought a DVD of Transformers: TM, a treatment because of the extreme I have not seen since the late 80's. But what triggered the memory of this anime movie, and I have to find what the hell is the name. Unfortunately, I know that some parts. The film should be in the years 80. And it has the classic look of anime, ex. Voltron. The main character flies small yellow spaceship. Eventually becomes the pilot of a giant robot, eg. Voltron. The end of the film consists of a high white tower. Of course, that's all I know. I have to watch this movie!
