The Best Classic Books,?
So, I want to start reading classic books
And I do not know who to start with, I want something interesting. As I am still a teenager, I would like it done in not ‘twelfth night’ format, so not read like a play, but like a book.
Is Wuthering Heights good?
And Ive already read Oliver Twist.
One novel you MUST read is Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.” In fact, I would recommend all of her novels. This book, however, is my favorite in all of literature, and it’s a must read if you’re looking to start reading classics. “Sense and Sensibility” is also a great one, as well.
I’d also recommend these:
Charlotte Bronte’s “Jane Eyre” (and I’d recommend reading Jean Rhys’s “Wide Sargasso Sea” after you finish this one. This novel isn’t a classic- it was written in the 60s- but it’s a great sequel-esque type novel to “Jane Eyre.” Wide Sargasso Sea is one of my favorite novels.)
Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”
Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray”
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby”
