Do Nintendo 3DS games work for the classic DS?

My brother has the classic Nintendo DS, and I have the DS Lite. There are some games coming out for the new “3DS” and we were hoping someone knew if the games for the 3DS will work for our systems.
Any help would be much appreciated!

3DS games will only work for the 3DS system. An extra piece of plastic was added to game cartridges for 3DS, so they only fit in that slot. As for the DS games, they will be able to be played on the 3DS system. Hope this helps.
