Can you use these controllers for the nintendo Wii?

I’ve downloaded some virtual console games from the Wii shop channel for Super Nintendo system (SNES) and the Nintendo entertainment system(NES)I also have some of these systems, too.( I know, i still have them!) I was wondering if for the games froom the SNES, can you use the SNES controller to play them on the virtual console instead of using classic controller(which I don’t have, and don’t feel like buying just a controller for $20 to play a few games with) or the gamecube controller(which I have, but some of the controls don’t work with the gamecube controller. )

No you can’t use original NES & SNES controllers for a Wii. You will have to buy the Wii Classic Controller (seen here http://i.i.com.com/cnet.g2/images/2006/news/05/09/wii_controller_screen001.jpg ) to do that.

The reason why not is very simple. The connectors from those 2 controllers are not the same as the one the Wii would have/use.
