Plan to get a new iPod classic for christmas, how scratch resistant it is now?

I used to have video ipod 30g, and soooooooooooooooo scratched easy, I had to scratch and buy a box for him (invisibleSHIELD, the better "deal" ever.) was stolen and now I have something to play music with what I thought why not get a 80Gig as Christmas approaches. To all you people out there with them, how easy to zero now?

I did not own a classic, but I saw them in person. Are based on the polished back, it's boring, I know. But in the front, have the same aluminum metal is about and the new nano 2G nano 3G. And from the front is metal and not plastic, I'm sure that will not scratch unless you drop. As for the screen, I'm not sure.
