How can i get this effect on photoshop?

Im trying to go for the old classic horror movie poster look which i thought would be easier than it is, but im not very good at photoshop apparently so anyone know a site where i can learn how to make images like this

Haunted.

P.s dont give me tutorial sites if you’re unsure that theres even a guide on there thats acceptable, definite links to the tutorials wanted would be great, thank you.

I think the face IS a scan from an old movie poster. The grain of the original print process is, clearly, visible.

I also think that the lettering is hand drawn, rather than any kind of available font. The letters that repeat don’t match each other, such as the “H,” “A,” and “K.” If it was a particular font, the like letters would match each other.

So, it appears that this image was a simple process of choosing the face the artist wanted, cropping it from it’s original poster, and then, in a separate layer, creating the lettering. The lettering may have been drawn, in ink on paper, and then, scanned and imported into the file. There, the lettering layer may have been “inverted” turning it from black to white.

Not particularly complicated.

Seven “Silly Symphonies” won Academy Awards, beginn…

If this were any other series pilot, it would probably be laughed out of the galaxy with its wooden acting, silly costumes, and cheesy sp…

Jack Arnold’s horror classic The Creature from the Black Lagoon spawned not one but two iconic images: the web-footed humanoid gill-man with a hankering for women and the leggy, luscious Julia Adams, the object of his desire, swimming the lagoon in a luminous white bathing suit. Not since King Kong has the “beauty and the beast” theme been portrayed in such sexually charged (though chaste) terms. …
