Friday the 13th series or Halloween series?
Okay the classic battle once again but this time I’m buying the series, from 1-7 (or 1-10 in Friday the 13th’s case) but none the less. What movie franchise should I buy? I have Nightmare On Elm Street collection, but I’ve never seen either Friday the 13th OR Halloween (I know shame on me I’m a horror maniac I know I know shame on me (Have seen Halloween 5, Jason X, Halloween Resurection, but that’s just about it) What movie franchise should I buy? It’ll be about the same cost so whatever quality of movie, thanks so much. I’m into slashers and thrillers and horrors all the same (Oh and I do own Freddy Vs. Jason too btw) Thanks so much again.
…I’d say, the “Friday the 13th” series would be the easiest (and most compact), as Paramount released a box set, with the first eight films, and all you have to do is scrounge up the latter three films from New Line Cinema, who took over the franchise, with “Jason Goes to Hell”.
The “Halloween” series is spread amongst three different distributors (Anchor Bay, Universal and Dimension), so a box set is probably improbable.
…as far as most interesting, I’d still say the “Friday the 13th” series (they attempted to at least try something different, with each film, albeit not always successfully); the “Halloween” series got a little silly and contrived, by the time Dimension Films got hold of the franchise.
