There is much to see and explore in the city of David, in particular for archeology enthusiasts and biblical history. Located in the original site of Jerusalem built by King David, and spread over 60 dunams, the area contains several excavations dating the First Temple period and earlier. The City of David Visitors Center offers guided tours of various sites, and in doing so, strives to put the Bible stories to life. The fourth was discovered in 1867 by the British explorerCaptain Charles Warren. His discovery, now called Warren's Shaft is an underground water tunnel, which indicates the researchers because of its natural water supply, this area was inhabited in biblical times. Since the initial discovery, the City of David is still a center for Biblical Archaeology.

Store:

Mahane Yehuda market

Recently, the Mahane Yehuda market has experienced a renaissance. For over a hundred years, the market has stood on this site, and has seen many changes. The current market was built in 1931 and has since been renewed regularly, including the addition of a roof over one section. The market is a place you will not want lost. The atmosphere, the smells, clothing boutiques, and interesting faces, make this cultural phenomenon worthy of a visit a couple of hours. There is a large market selling vegetables, fruit, cheese, fish, olives, and more. In my experience, people think it is one of the most fascinating cities. You should not be afraid to negotiate – if a seller tells ten, that means that is five years.

The Rockefeller Museum

The first building constructed expressly as a national museum Rockefeller Museum, was financed by American millionaire John D. Rockefeller Jr. and has been constructed over a period of 15 years, was finally completed in late 1930. Located in East Jerusalem, the fascinating museum was originally known as the Palestine Archaeological Museum. Designed octagon-shaped museum uses Muslims, Jews and Christian elements. The museum's collection includes important discoveries of large excavations in Israel in the early twentieth century. Besides the main library there are several small galleries, each devoted to a special theme, including: stucco elements and statues of Hisham Palace near Jericho, carved wooden doors and frames the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Mount theTemple; lintels of the Holy Sepulchre church, and small rooms with collections of coins and gold jewelry. The museum is distinguished by its unique architecture, history, and of course home to rare objects.

German Colony

Once a German pastoral district, founded in 1870 by Templar German German colony is now a bustling city of luxury. If you walk down the side streets, you can get an impression of what the region has been a time when it was inhabited by the Knights Templar, and you may discover hidden architectural treasures built by German founders.

The view from the terrace of the restaurant is fantastic, but the food is average: pasta focaccia, and salads.
