I want to knit a long jacket in Classic Elite Yarns Waterspun Weekend, but can’t find it on the net.Any ideas?

I’m guessing this wool must be super chunky as the pattern calls for 10mm needles. Can anybody tell me where in the UK I can get this wool, or suggest an alternative wool?

Unfortunately, it was discontinued fall 2004.

You can try Rowan Big Wool, but it’s a plied yarn, whereas Waterspun is a single ply. It may hold up better since single ply tends to felt/pill quicker.

I don’t know how readily available these are in the UK:

You should be able to substitute it with yarn that has the following:
weight: Super Bulky (5-6 wpi)
yardage: 57 yards (52 meters)
weight: 100 grams (3.53 ounces)
gauge/tension: 8.0 = 4 inches
needle size: US 17 / 12.75 mm
