classic books for teens that are interesting?

I’ve read the twilight series, pretty little liars, the uglies, and before I fall (and many more) but I want some books that are less shallow (not about stupid teen girls throwing up and smoking and drinking) maybe something older, more classic, or new just some good reads please

Well…. Wuthering Heights is always a great classic! Tells about Catherine and Heathcliffs childhood crush that basically isnt there anymore… its been a while since i last read it so i forget some of it, but it was really good!

Criss Cross by Lynne Rae Perkins is suited for more of the younger teens, but its really really good. Im 15 and I just read it and loved it!! Its told from all different perspectives, but mostly from Debbie and Hectors, both 14 year olds. There isnt realyl a main plot, just events that happen over a summer that have to do with life, friendship, and growing up. Its a great coming of age story! it has this wry humour thats just amazing!!

The hunger games and catching fire (soon to be mockingjay) are probably my favorite books ever! They are written by suzzane collins and tell about a 16 year old girl named katniss who volunteers to take part in the hunger games, a yearly event where 24 kids fight to the death. the winner gets fame and fortune for life, and the loser of course gets death. thats basically the first one, and in the second (which in my opinion is better) there is such a twist you will not believe it!! I got three of my friends hooked on these books, all of them loooove it! I honestly havent met one person who hasnt. there are amazing and you will fall in love with the characters. Collins has such a way of telling stories, its amazing. you will be crying and laughing and mad at the book sometimes, but in the end you never want it to be over!

The Giver by Lois Lowery, about a kid Jonah i think his name was, who lives in the future, but there is no color, no war, everyone has manners, nothing bad ever happens. Its a seemingly perfect world… on the outside. Then when jonah gets selected to be reciever of the memories, he learns a lot more about his world that surprises him. Nothing is what it seems. that was such a good, but short, book that really kept me reading. its such a classic, its really really good.

The outsiders by SE hinton. we had to read this for school, and when i first heard that we were gonna read it i wasnt too thrilled. I thought it was going to be really boring, about gangs that get into fights and whatnot and that didnt really interest me. But after I read the first page i was like Woow! Its soooo good, Hinton is an amazing writer! It tells about ponyboy, his brothers darry and sodapop, and their friends two bit mathews, dally, and johnny. Well, they get into a little bit of trouble and everything goes out of control, johnny and ponyboy have to run away, and i dont want to give it away, but it made me cry sooo much! Its such a good book, an excellent coming of age story! Its a perfect book for a teen, my second favorite book next to the hunger games!! its a shame its soo short, because its just so amazign you dont want it to end!

If your into fallen angels and that stuff, then Hush, Hush, by becca fitzpatrick and Fallen by lauren kate are perfect for you! They are both about fallen angels, both different plots, and both veeerrryyy good! these got me into fallen angels, because i never was before, and I really liked them, especially fallen because i think i can relate to it a little more.

The Littlest Prince by (idk, some french guy) is amazing!!! Idk, this might be tied for first place with the hunger games, but only cuz it kinda has a sentimental value to me. my dad used to read this to me when i was like 6, and i have read it about 5 times over the years. Its sooooo goood! i cry all the time when i read it! Its about the little prince, who has his own planet, with a rose thats in a glass jar to protect it from the weather, and a volcanoe. he visits all these different planets and eventually ends up on earth. I like it because it has a lot of hidden meanings under neath the words, like kind of a sarcastic humour. its just a really good book and its such a classic!! I think it was written in the 1940′s, and has been translated into soooo many languages!

If i was you and had to choose which book to read, i would choose the hunger games/catching fire, the outsiders, or the littlest prince. But all the books i suggested are amazing and any one you choose your sure to love
