Which Preamp should I get? Art Tube MP or M Audio audiobuddy?

Okay so I want to record vocals and acoustic guitar through a Tascam U122L and cubase. I know its not the best system and thats why Im going to buy a preamp. Im looking at the Art Tube MP or the M Audio audiobuddy. The audio buddy will cost me around $80 more. Is it worth the price difference? Or should I go for the option midrange between the two with the Art tube MP studio V3? Prices Im looking at are approximately……

Ben – You don’t need an external preamp – the Tascam has one built in. An external preamp will probably not make much of a difference.

Any audio device with a mic input by definition has a mic preamp – it would not work without it.

If you are not getting good recordings with the Tascam alone, you may be doing something else wrong. Make sure you are getting a good audio level from the mic into the interface. Too much level will distort.
