Tips for making a graphic design?
I’ve been assigned to make a new t-shirt for our Cross Country Team. I drew out a nice logo on paper with our school name. The only problem is that the text is hard to make perfect by pen so my coach wants to do the text on the computer using something such as word. I know it’s not the best program to design graphics. I have Adobe Photoshop (older version) & a new program, Art Explosion Publisher Pro 2.0. I’m also considering purchasing a Mouse Pen to perfect the design.
Also, our logo needs to be in color (which my drawing is not)
My main questioins…
Should I purhcase the mouse pen, or will it be even more difficult? (advantages, disadvantages) Will I need to scan my image, or just draw it on the computer? Are my programs user friendly for this process?

Ive heard a little about a mouse pen, and as far as I know they’re rather difficult to control. Here is my recommendation, a method I swear by when perfecting those hand drawings on the computer;
Use Adobe Photoshop for this, and click on the pen tool. (refer to this guide if you’re not sure how to use the pen: http://www.melissaclifton.com/tutorial-pentool.html). MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS ON A SEPARATE LAYER FROM YOUR BASE! Using the tangent lines to create curves (clicking and dragging), trace the contour of your design, which you will have to either scan in or take a digital photo of and put it on your computer. Once you’re done, delete the layer which has your scan of your design so that the vector layer which you traced with the pen tool only remains.
