If the oil is added to the clay?
I'm used to working with my clay art classes, but I have now is my friend from school. His white / black / gray and not "plastic." I have problems casting and smooth because it dries very quickly. I added a little oil to a sample and it worked pretty well. I was wondering if it is safe to add oil, when the clay is placed in the oven? I used baby oil and read a bit of clay that is based Oil does not dry out or be fired. So far it seems to dry very slowly, as usual, that's all.
if you want to put it in the oven: no. Add water. If it is oil-based clay (plasticine) Yes, you can add the oil. If you work with clay water use based water if it starts to dry. oil is added to clay burned and can not only be a fire hazard, but also leave behind soot. If it is an electric oven or owners appreciate. If you have used a significant amount of oil is likely to melt before your clay of fuel oil that the oil does not evaporate before putting in the oven, as they are essentially a kind clay to melt and then burn if heated. Also, if the water is still in the clay could not evaporate through the oil Your room can explode can damage other parts in the oven. I do not think it's a good idea at all. What is the problem with using water? It's cheaper and easier too! Use a spray bottle and wait for the clay absorbs the water before going to work. Cover completely with plastic things when you're not. You can also put a wet towel in the bag (if you put too much moisture, which can destroy everything you do.)
