How much sodium is this? would this cause weight gain? (repost)?

does my diet today cause weight gain due to the sodium or because i ate too much?

(1) Have you been drinking atleast 2-3 8 oz glasses of water during the day? There are mixed opinions about ingesting water versus weight loss, but personally I find that it does help.

I would recommend (1) 8 oz glass of water before or during each meal. I recently had a doctor suggest to me to take 1-2 capsules of Metamucel prior to each meal also, it helps to fill you up and keep you full longer.

(2) Your first meal:

8oz chicken noodle soup from panera
1/2 classic cafe salad w/balsamic vinigar.
2 very small pieces of bread (samples)
a couple bites of an apple

~~~~~~ I would have avoided the bread and ate the whole apple. Avoid the latte, drink a tall glass of water.~~~~~~~

(3) Second Meal:

2 very small salmon fillets
2 veryyyy small baked potatoes with some butter
a piece of light wheat bread with 1 teaspoon of pb & jelly

~ Avoid baked potatoes with butter!!!!! Add a vegetable of your choice instead, with no butter added. No bread, if your still hungry, eat some carrots or maybe some celery with a tiny bit of peanut butter. Atleast if you like carrots, you can eat quite a few without worrying too much about the effect it will have on your weightloss (if anything, it will help!).

(4) Third Meal:

a mini pack of m&ms
1/2 of a mini wheat bagel
100 calorie pack popcorn bag
2 low fat waffles w/some jelly (140 in all)

~~~~ First of all… if money is an issue, forget the “100 calorie pack of popcorn” and instead just buy regular unsalted, unbuttered popcorn and eat as much as you wish.

~~~~ Try to avoid bread (ie: the bagel).

~~~~ Waffles??!?!?! Substitute the waffles for yogurt and if you wish you can cut up some fruit to either add to the yogurt or eat as a side.

~~~~ Also, I would recommend atleast (1) 8 oz glass of either low fat milk or non fat milk per day.

~~~~ If we starve ourselves of the treats we want, we tend to binge. Although, if you like dark chocolate, I have heard over the years that dark chocolate is healthier for you than regular chocolate.

~~~~ Just remember, its all about quantity and quality, with diets. Fad diets never work. Just be sensible about what you are ingesting and the pounds will fall off. Its better for your body if you loose 5-10 pounds per month, instead of drastic diets where you drop large amounts of weight from starving yourself. Studies I have read have suggested that smaller weight loss over longer periods of time tends to stay off!
